Armytek lights usually ship from the factory with dirty contacts, which can impair function. One thing I would recommend is cleaning the contacts of your light when you get it. Their warranty service tells you all that you need to know, really ask yourself if a company with such high failure rates would stay in business replacing busted lights with newer versions. I’ve heard that they do this a lot, and folks with the older problem Wizards reported being given a newer USB Wizard as well. The joke was on me, because they were very pleasant and replaced my two year old broken light with a newer XHP35 model with no trouble.
#Armytek wizard pro v3 xhp50 review pro
I had one Armytek light fail me (a Dobermann Pro XP-L HI) and put off contacting them because I’d heard that it was a hassle. And if you do have a problem, Armytek’s customer support is a lot better than the vocal minority will have you believe. Zebralight and Armytek make the best mass produced lights in terms of quality and features, regardless of what anyone else here will try to tell you. I think that you’ll be very happy with it. The Wizard USB, as you said, is pretty much the complete package and is my primary light. They are very tough lights with good UIs and electronics. I have used them daily for a few years now and have three currently in my EDC loadout (warm Viking Pro XHP50, warm Wizard Pro V3 USB, and a warm Tiara C1 Pro USB) and I wouldn’t trade them for anything. I own over a dozen of their lights, all different types. They had some issues with the early version of the XHP50 Wizard, and that combined with a few disgruntled posters has really dragged their reputation through the mud in this sub. The failure rates of Armyteks have been grossly exaggerated over the last several weeks here. I don’t want any special treatment or products, just want to provide feedback for people in a similar position.ĭon’t sweat it. I’m giving you a chance, and will be providing a thorough review of the product and any following experience. The reviews seem to either be stellar or awful. U/ArmyTek, I know this isn’t anything new, but as someone new to flashlights and willing to spend the time researching, the above is my impression of your product. I say all of that, to ask this: Is the failure rate of the Wizard Pro V3’s (USB) almost 20-40% like it seems, or is it really one of every 50-100? This is a company I really want to like, and if I have a good experience, plan to buy several more as gifts. It’s a shame I have to hope I get a ‘good’ one. The total package was too compelling to not at least try, and it seems like the perfect EDC light for my purposes. Truth be told, I have a Wizard Pro V3 USB in Warm being packaged for me right now at the Canadian factory. If you’ve reviewed the Wizard Pro V3 USB, I can almost guarantee I’ve read your review.

Kudos to AKB, ZeroAir, Zak, MegaWoodsWalker, JonM and all of you other reviewers whose names I can’t quite recall. I’ve read literally every single review of the Wizards here, watched every video I can find on YouTube, and combed through CPF for any mention of them (I really, really like researching things like this lol). I appreciated the Zebralights simplicity and reliability, but I thought the Wizard would be comparable. Of the two, I liked the higher (albeit understandably short-duration) outputs of the Wizard Pro V3 USB, as well as the illuminating side switch and magnetic tailcap (all of which would be useful in my line of work). So I started looking at Zebralight headlamps and ArmyTeks. I started out wanting the Olight H2R Nova, but after asking you folks, didn’t see a ton of support for it. I can’t find it lacking in anything, except the higher and higher lumens we all chase. Great UI with a wealth of modes, awesome color temperature, magnetic tailcap, respectable output with solid runtimes, USB charging, non-proprietary batteries, waterproof (10m). The malfunction rate is a shame, because of all the right-angle lights I’ve researched (I’d say roughly 50-100 hours of research), the total package of the Wizard Pro V3 really won me over. I just can’t figure out what to believe, and would love any information or experience anyone may have.ĪrmyTek seems to have amazing durability specs and a fantastic UI, but I’ve seen so many reports lately of people having their Wizard Pro V3 break or have to be exchanged.
